Officials urged to improve quality of logistics industry

A work symposium focusing on the development of Guiyang and Guian New Area's logistics industry was held on Dec 5 in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The development plan and market entity cultivation work report for the industry were revealed during the meeting.

The logistics industry plays a fundamental role in local socioeconomic development. Government officials were urged to be aware of the significance of the industry in the development of the real economy and work out effective measures to reduce logistics costs and increase work efficiency.

The meeting also included discussions on other work that needs to be done, such as developing every section of the logistics industrial chain, including transportation, warehousing, loading and unloading.

In addition, coordination among different kinds of logistics services was also emphasized, such as those catering to foreign trade, express delivery and e-commerce.
