Many upstream enterprises in the new energy vehicle (NEV) industry are benefiting from the thriving business. Guizhou Anda Energy Technology Co, located in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, is one of them.
The firm is mainly engaged in the research, production and sales of lithium battery materials, and its products are applied in NEV power cells. Founded in 1996 at Kaiyang county, the firm previously was a private enterprises producing and selling tetraphosphorus.
According to the firm's General Manager Zhu Yong, although the tetraphosphorus sales were not bad, their business was a highly energy-consuming trade and relied heavily on mineral resources.
In 2009, Anda Energy aimed at transforming into the NEV field, after numerous investigations and considerations. The company then started to invest in the research on lithium battery materials. In 2020, the first batch of lithium iron phosphate entered the supply chain of China's largest lithium battery manufacturer and NEV maker BYD. The firm has gradually established long-term partnerships with CATL, CAAC Lithium Electricity, and other manufacturing giants.
To further enlarge its production capacity, Anda Energy launched the construction of its new manufacturing base in April last year, building production lines as well as supporting infrastructure for power, water supply and workers' accommodation.
In April this year, the base entered the trial operation stage and is expected to run at full capacity in August. The number of employees has surged from about 600 in January last year to more than 1,600 today, and is expected to continue to increase.
