Ma Lei, head of Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce, located in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, held a work meeting on the business operation during the first half of 2022 on April 7.
The meeting was held at the Guiyang bureau of commerce and participants included senior officials from the provincial and municipal governments.
The first-quarter work reports from the Guiyang bureau of commerce, Guiyang Free Trade Zone, Guian Free Trade Zone, the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone were tabled at the meeting.
Elements that impact Guiyang's economic operations were analyzed, including the domestic and overseas COVID-19 pandemic situation, the Russia-Ukraine dispute and national macro policies.
Existing problems in Guiyang's consumption market, as well as severe issues faced by local enterprises, such as the increasing international logistic cost, the shrinking overseas orders, and the shortage of raw material supply, were revealed.
Ma Lei urged Guiyang to conduct precise research on the consumption market, consumption structure, as well as scenarios and timing of shopping activities, enhance cultivation of headquarters economy and e-commerce.
He also called for the drafting of incentive policies to boost mid and high-end consumption, as well as the stabilization of stocks of refined oil, automobiles and spirits.
