The first Guiyang Time-Honored Brands assessment was launched on March 31, according to the Guiyang bureau of commerce, located in the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The time-honored brand is an appellation granted by the national and regional authorities to enterprises that have existed for a designated, protracted period and have sold products, techniques or services passed down through generations – having distinct Chinese cultural characteristics and being widely recognized by the public.
Applicants for the assessment cover the fields of traditional Chinese medicine, catering, clothing, seasonings, spirit, tea, bakery and meat products, folk handicrafts and other commodities.
Enterprises and other units willing to take part in the selection should have been established locally and have ownership or access to their own trademarks.
Catering brand operators should have maintained their businesses for at least 15 years, while the requirement for other kinds of brand operators is 20 years.
Products, services or craftsmanship to be evaluated must embody Guiyang's unique historical or cultural traditions and should be well-regarded by the general public.
Qualified business operators can submit their applications to the relevant commercial departments.
Candidates that have already been recognized as China Time-Honored Brands or Guizhou Time-Honored Brands will be granted the title of Guiyang Time-Honored Brand without any additional reviews.
