The Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone – located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is expected to play a leading role in opening to the outside world and in cross-regional cooperation.
That's in the wake of the central government having released a document, at the start of the year, supporting Guizhou's efforts to explore new ways in the Go-West Campaign in the new era.
Qiao Peng, deputy director of the zone's investment promotion and commerce, said the zone has been focusing on business and investment promotion in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and in the Chengdu-Chongqing region, in a bid to achieve new breakthroughs.
After initiating investment and business attraction approaches, the zone has successfully introduced a precision conductor industrial city project funded by Amer International Group Co, an aero engine spare parts production center and other projects from the Greater Bay Area, Chengdu and Chongqing.
According to Qiao, the zone will deepen its exploration of cooperation and help facilitate the transfer of industries from the eastern to the western parts of China.
