An official team led by the newly appointed Chongqing representative Zhu Ye from Hong Kong Trade Development Council visited Guiyang bureau of commerce, located in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on March 9.
A symposium was held for the two sides, presided over by Zheng Xuke, vice president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guiyang Sub-Council.
Zhu detailed the major exhibitions the council had held in Hong Kong to overcome the adverse effect of the COVID-19 pandemic – urging Guiyang to organize businesses to participate in the 2022 online exhibition and display their local delicacies, tea and other products. Zhu also put forward an "exhibition + design + production" cooperation model for the two parties.
The council's Zheng praised the large-scale expositions it had held, which have provided efficient platforms for enterprises based in Guiyang city to explore global markets and seek out international commercial deals.
The bureau will arrange foreign trade companies to attend major commodity exhibitions to be held by the council, with an aim to attract more corporations with international reputations to start businesses in Guiyang.
