The Guiyang bureau of commerce – in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – organized for officials from other departments on Dec 29, 2021, to form a team to review the Qingyun pedestrian mall in Nanming district.

It wanted them to assess it as a business street, in terms of its overall layout, infrastructure, facilities, smart services, management mechanisms and commercial potential.

The street has reportedly been given the green light by Guiyang's municipal government to start operating.

The street was originally laid down in 1927. The new pedestrian street is now divided into four sections. The first pays attention to cultural heritage through public arts and the second is filled with restaurants and food outlets, where people can find traditional Guizhou cuisine.

The third area focuses on fashion, creativity and culture that cater to young people and the fourth precinct tries to integrate regional culture with global trends.
