Statistics show that Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province received 279,100 new market entities over the past year, up 83.86 percent from 2020. Guiyang is now home to 901,300 registered market entities, a year-on-year increase of 35.7 percent.
Guiyang has redoubled efforts to optimize its services and streamline relevant procedures. Using its online government affair platform, it is now possible for different departments to handle the same item simultaneously, which has reduced the time needed to handle government affairs from 23 days to just one weekday.
In addition, many free services have been launched during the business registration process. Officials now make business seals and post registration-related documents for newly-registered companies free of charge.
As far as market regulation is concerned, Guiyang has enacted policies to reduce punishments for slightly illegal behaviors conducted by business operators, allowing more growing space for new business types and models.
