The Western Import and Export Commodity Exhibition and Trading Center – situated in Guiyang city, in Southwest China's Guizhou province – kicked off trial operations on Dec 28.
The center is reportedly a major investment project being introduced by the Guiyang municipal government. It is expected to become a commercial hub that integrates medium and high-end consumer goods imports, accounts settling, big data, clearances, bonded warehouse services and logistics.
Occupying a total area of 42,590 square meters, the center has set up 11 country themed pavilions and e-commerce retailing experience stores.
There are also 17 comprehensive exhibition areas for imported bags, high-end cosmetics, select drinks and special cultural products and food from foreign countries.
All these products were procured directly from the place of origin, enabling consumers to purchase them at a lower price without worrying about their quality.
The center is expected to officially open to the public in July.
