The city of Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is reportedly moving things up when it comes to seamless government services.

The metropolis is said to be making great progress in coordinating its departments for market regulation, public security, taxes, social securities, medical care and public funds.

The goal is to break down data barriers and promote statistics-sharing mechanisms and the registration procedures for new businesses, for example, can now be performed within just one working day.

Recently, the city integrated its online and offline platforms for government affairs. This has enabled companies to enter only one platform online or offline in order to conduct business registrations, seal making and the opening of bank accounts.

A free EMS postal service has also been made available to enterprises. To date, 15 districts, counties and development zones in Guiyang have put the streamlined services in place.
