Guiyang approved to build national processing trade industrial park

The Ministry of Commerce announced the first list of national processing trade industrial parks on Sept 13, and Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, received approval to build such a park along with 12 other cities in China.

The Guiyang National Processing Trade Industrial Park will be situated in Guiyang Free Trade Zone and will occupy an area of 10.83 square kilometers. The zone has been focusing on electronic information manufacturing, imported crop processing, mid and high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, and new energy, and has established business partnerships with companies in the United States, Mexico, Singapore, Brazil, Uruguay, Ukraine, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Over the past five years, the free trade zone's processing trade exports and imports were valued at $2.07 billion, accounting for 63.45 percent of Guiyang's total export and import revenue.

That Guiyang was approved to build a national processing trade industrial park will further enhance its ability to attract businesses, increase the scale of local trade companies, and boost the transformation and upgrading of processing trade.

Moving forward, the Guiyang bureau of commerce will instruct the zone to take full advantage of its national processing trade industrial park, improve the park's sustainable development, and build a beacon of opening-up in central and western China.
