In a bid to raise consumer satisfaction levels for the upcoming 2021 national consumer satisfaction rankings, the government of Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province has issued a work plan to comprehensively boost consumer satisfaction.
The work plan's goal is to increase commodity supplies, optimize the consumption environment, and strengthen protections for consumers. Guiyang will strive to become a pilot city for cultural and tourism consumption, further strengthen consumer confidence, and unleash consumption potential according to the requirements of the China Consumer Association in the consumer satisfaction assessment system.
The city will tap consumption potential brought about by local festivals and customs, and incentivize enterprises to hold various ceremonies and sales promotion activities.
In addition, Guiyang's market will be further regulated, especially in terms of food security, which residents care about most. A number of tasks will be launched to sample food products for safety tests.
The government will also enhance its supervision over agricultural products and crack down on illegal behavior, including spreading unchecked information and not pricing commodities clearly.
A punishment mechanism will be established to curb fake promotion activities that have seriously infringed on consumers' rights.
Efforts will also be made to reinforce warnings to consumers about the risk of online transactions and education about personal information security to suppress illegal behavior among business operators, such as excessively collecting, using, or leaking consumers' personal information. Key fields related to these activities will be given due attention, including asset renting and selling, off-campus training, fitness and cosmetics, furnishing and decoration, tourism accommodation, express delivery, phone marketing, and website and App operation.
In addition, a consumer rights protection mechanism will be consolidated by cultivating a number of demonstration enterprises, trading areas, catering business operators, and scenic spots. Meanwhile, the 12315 and 12345 hot lines will make it more convenient for consumers to submit claims.
