During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday on June 12-14, Guiyang city and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province received 3.65 million visits and generated 2.07 billion yuan ($319.28 million) in tourism revenue.
Scenic spots that received more than 10,000 visitors each during the break included Qingyan Ancient Town, Kiayang Shili Hualang, Quanhu Park and Times Guizhou Town.
Also bringing in that level of visitors was the Tianhetan scenic area, the Xifeng Concentration Camp Revolutionary History Memorial Hall, the Yunman Lake international resort area and Chetian scenic spot.
Visitors were able to learn more about the traditional festival and culture through Guiyang and Guian's various tourism activities.
These included a shopping festival, making traditional zongzi snacks, perfumed medicine bag making, a Miao embroidery exhibition, and a painting and calligraphy exhibition.
Both Guiyang and Guian reportedly received no accident reports or tourism-related complaints.
