An integral part of the Big Data Expo, the high-tech dialogue for the global digital service trade was held on May 26 in Guiyang, hosted by the expo's organizing committee, the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, as well as the Guiyang bureau of commerce.

The event centered on digital trade service innovation. It aimed to strengthen collaboration between service trade firms in different countries and establish a platform for idea exchanges in the global digital service trade sector.

Officials from the Guizhou Provincial Government, the Guiyang municipal government, senior executives from Fortune 500 companies, and representatives of more than 50 service trade and outsourcing firms, took part in the session.

There were four sessions in total – addresses, themed speeches, reports and summit dialogues. During the second session, Zheng Jun, vice president of International Business Machines Corporation (IBM), delivered a speech on how technology and modern services raise company values, sharing with guests how IBM explored its digital transformation.

Zhou Yuan, managing director of Boston Consulting Group (BCG), offered his insights into the opportunities and challenges faced by China's service trade industry.

In the last session, specialists and entrepreneurs had heated discussions about digital trade, digital economy, digital services, and integration between big data and traditional industries. They also exchanged their opinions on how Guiyang should reinforce its role as China's big data hub.
