A high-end dialogue on the global digital service trade, hosted by the 2021 Big Data Expo organizing committee, the Guiyang bureau of commerce and the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, was held both online and offline on May 26 as part of the expo.
The event included the release of a document that outlined the status quo of the global digital trade and China's development in 2021.
Guests in the meeting from globally influential companies joined in discussions about the digital transformation of the service trade and service outsourcing firms, and the progress being made in the digital economy.
With regard to the digital transmission of traditional hotels, Shen Jialin, vice-president of Marriott International Group's department of government affairs, said the transmission involves systems of booking, operational management and profit management. She highlighted the importance of digital promotion, which appears to be more appealing to younger consumers.
When asked about how the digitalization process raises work efficiency, Chen Yonglan, general manager of Eurazeo Group (China), a French-based multinational fund, took his own firm as a successful example. They formed a special digital team, responsible for the preliminary analysis of investments, based on which digital models will be created. The analysis will go deeper as the investment starts to make a profit.
The future of Guiyang's big data industry was also discussed during the convention. Qiao Yusheng, general manager of JLL China, a real estate service provider, suggested that Guiyang should not only equip itself with a solid industrial foundation, but also establish helpful platforms for business start-ups, and complete its supporting facilities in financing and relevant regulations.
