The 2021 South Korea-Guiyang New Energy Automotive Industry Online and Offline Seminar took place on April 15 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The event was co-sponsored by the Guiyang branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Chongqing representative office of Korea Trade-investment Promotion Agency.
With a focus on promoting business development opportunities and international cooperation in the automotive industry, the seminar aimed to build a platform for exchanges and cooperation between Guiyang and South Korea in the field of new energy vehicles.
Zhang Jianhua, vice-mayor of Guiyang, said that through years of development and policy support, Guiyang's automobile industry has begun to take shape, and that the new energy automobile industry has formed a strong foundation and become a key manufacturing sector in the city.
He said he hopes that Guiyang and South Korea will take the seminar as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation on new energy automobile manufacturing and auto parts production and achieve resource sharing and mutually beneficial partnerships in the new energy automobile industry.
At the seminar, 17 South Korea-funded auto parts enterprises in China conducted on-site exchanges, business matchmaking meetings and negotiations with Guiyang bureau of industry and information technology and four local automobile companies. More than 10 auto parts producers in South Korea also attended the event through the online conference system.
The participants from South Korea expressed their strong desire to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Guiyang, particularly in technical and economic sectors. They also shared their willingness to fully integrate into the industrial supply chain of Guiyang's enterprises and promote the development of Guiyang's new energy automobile industry.
