The Guiyang branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) met the delegation from the Chengdu office of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) on Jan 20 in Guiyang city, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The meeting focused on trade promotion, cooperation in economic and trade activities and international industrial investment.
The CCPIT Guiyang branch introduced its overseas business representative offices, international chambers of commerce, external contact channels and mid-to-high-end consumption growth.
Zheng Xuke, full-time vice-president of the branch, suggested three cooperation proposals at the meeting.
Zheng said that he hopes KITA will strengthen its understanding of Guiyang's industrial development and encourage South Korean enterprises operating in China to visit Guiyang to explore business matchmaking opportunities and cooperation.
KITA could organize mature South Korean commodity supply resources to carry out business surveys in Guiyang and participate in Guiyang's economic and trade activities, as well as deepen bilateral economic and trade exchanges, Zheng added.
He welcomed KITA to participate in and pay attention to major international exchange activities in Guiyang, such as the China International Big Data Industry Expo and the China (Guizhou) International Alcoholic Beverages Expo. He also expressed his hope that the trade association will support the establishment of Guiyang's business representative offices in South Korea.
Gao Fanrui, chief representative of KITA's Chengdu office, said that in 2021, in response to the Chinese market's needs, KITA would further connect with Korean companies and explore the possibility of holding a Korean commodity shopping festival tour in Chengdu, Guiyang and Chongqing.
The delegation from KITA's Chengdu office visited a supermarket and a plaza in Guiyang, learning about Korean consumer goods sales in the Guiyang market.
Next, the two sides will study and refine their cooperation plan for 2021 and create trade and investment opportunities for Chinese and South Korean enterprises by referring to the cooperation model with Chengdu and Chongqing.
