The Guiyang municipal bureau of commerce held a symposium on Jan 7 to expand its knowledge of the current situation regarding imports and exports, as well as gain an in-depth understanding of the day-to-day operations of foreign trade enterprises and the difficulties and problems they face.
Staff members from the bureau and representatives of 30 key foreign trading companies attended the meeting in Guiyang city, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The bureau gave a briefing on the city's foreign trade last year, analyzed the opportunities and challenges being faced by foreign trade companies in the post-epidemic era and set key foreign trade goals and tasks for 2021.
Participating companies discussed and exchanged views on business conditions last year, the difficulties they encountered and swapped notes and ideas on good practice in developing the international market.
They called for targeted adjustments and arrangements for this year's policies -- especially regarding policies on logistics, professional training, as well as the development of trading platforms and financial services -- to better increase their development momentum.
In response to the problems and suggestions raised by the enterprises, the bureau will strengthen its services response and policy support, improve its liaison and cooperation, as well as coordinate and resolve issues and problems for business in a timely manner.
