A government delegation led by Liu Lisha, director of Guiyang municipal bureau of commerce, investigated major commerce and trade businesses in Guiyang city, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Dec 31.

The inspection was to ensure production safety, market supply and COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control in commerce and trade sectors during the New Year's Day holiday from Jan 1 to 3.

The delegation visited Guiyang Dili Farm Produce Logistics Park, Guiyang Mengguan International Auto Parts City, the Huaguoyuan branch of Yonghui Supermarket and Sinopec's petrol station on Shibei Road.

The government officials learned about product supply, prices at farm produce wholesale markets and supermarkets and refined oil reserves. The measures taken by businesses to control and prevent the pandemic were also inspected.

Liu requested that all businesses fulfill the social responsibilities of ensuring the steady prices and ample supply of oil and food and strengthen employee' training on safety and pandemic prevention and control measures.

She also encouraged companies to carry out online and offline sales promotions during the three-day holiday to meet consumers' needs and boost holiday consumption.
