A business delegation from the Southwest China branch of Mitsui & Co. (Shanghai) Ltd, a Fortune Global 500 Enterprise based in Japan, on Dec 21-22 visited Guiyang city -- capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- looking to do business.
Officials from the Guiyang municipal bureau of commerce and the Guiyang branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade met the delegation, discussing the current market situation in the city and doing commerce and trade in Guiyang.
At the symposium, Huang Weijian, general manager of Southwest China branch of Mitsui, said that the visit was to seek business with Guiyang, plan Japanese liquor tasting activities and touring exhibitions, achieve resource sharing and information integration and explore cooperation in Japanese catering and in men's skin care products.
The Guiyang municipal bureau of commerce gave a briefing on the development of convenience stores and preferential policies to promote foreign investment in the city.
Tang Rong, deputy director of the bureau, welcomed the delegation and said there were many business opportunities for the development of Guiyang's commerce and trade and many supportive policies for commercial businesses.
She hoped Mitsui would seize the opportunities to cooperate in the area of convenience stores, organic food processing, pharmaceuticals and health care.
Moving forwards, the bureau will formulate a cooperation plan based on the needs of Mitsui, assist the company in business matchmaking with corresponding companies in Guiyang and recommend Japanese liquor distributors.
