Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – scored well recently in attracting investment at a key event in a city in South China.
The Guiyang municipal bureau of commerce organized government delegations of local counties, districts and development zones to attract investment at the 12th China Processing Trade Products Fair in Dongguan, an industrial city in South China's Guangdong province, between Dec 17 and 20.
During the four-day fair, the bureau launched a series of investment marketing events and carried out business matchmaking with 46 companies that were attending.
These covered electromechanical products, luggage, supply chains, logistics services, home furnishing, communications, cultural and creative sectors and vehicle manufacturing industries.
The bureau and commerce departments of local districts reached preliminary accords with 12 businesses and 19 companies expressed their interest to carry out business tours in Guiyang in the near future.
The bureau also held business meetings with Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Zhuhai Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment and Dongguan Foreign Investment Promotion Center.
Hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, China National Intellectual Property Administration and Guangdong Provincial Government, this year's fair attracted 1,193 enterprises from 19 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan.
