The Guiyang branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) sent representatives to Chengdu -- capital city of Southwest China's Sichuan province -- to participate in the 2020 China-Japan-South Korea SME Economic and Trade Innovation Summit on Oct 20-21.

The aim was to boost commerce and trade and investment with Japan and South Korea and to learn about organizing international economic and trade exchange activities from the Chengdu branch of the CCPIT.

The summit was hosted by the Chengdu branch of the CCPIT, the Chengdu International Chamber of Commerce, the Chengdu Office of Japan External Trade Organization and Chengdu Office of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency.

The summit adopted a combination of online and offline activities, holding an opening ceremony, a China-Japan-South Korea economic and trade dialogue, corporate roadshows, visits and business inspections.

Focused on the new economy, health care and cross-border e-commerce, the event aimed to match the needs of enterprises and promote business cooperation.

At the summit, the Guiyang branch of the CCPIT had in-depth exchanges with leaders of the summit's supporters, sponsors, guests and business representatives from Japan, South Korea, Chongqing and Chengdu.

These focused on promoting trade, holding exhibitions, as well as attracting industrial investment, small and medium-sized enterprises and deepening bilateral exchanges.

By attending the summit, the Guiyang branch of the CCIPT will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with institutions from Japan and South Korea.

This will help Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, achieve increased levels of opening-up and high-quality economic development.

Che Weiwei contributed to the story.
