After opening two iconic stores in Beijing and Shanghai, the Galeries Lafayette Group -- the world-renowned fashion and luxury department store -- has decided to expand in China and it recently announced the leasing of a third store in the Nanming district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
To that end, it signed an agreement with the Guiyang municipal government, the Nanming district government and HLC Commercial Estates Group (HLC Group) through a remote video meeting held on Oct 22.
The new flagship store will occupy 11,500 square meters on two floors in the D.Place Shopping Mall owned by HLC Group in the Huaguoyuan business area in Nanming district.
It will be the third outlet for the group in China and the first in Southwest China, with the store scheduled to open in the spring of 2022.
The Huaguoyuan business area is a benchmark project that is in line with Nanming district's objective of creating a mid to high-end retail zone.
With its premium consumer base and supportive business climate, the area's commercial cluster is attracting international premium brands, which will add momentum to Guiyang's commercial market.
The arrival of the luxury department store will also provide a unique and high-quality experience for Guiyang consumers.
