The Guiyang bureau of commerce and the Economic Promotion Bureau of the city of Cologne in Germany recently signed a memorandum of understanding on establishing an economic partnership through a recent video conference, according to officials from Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Liu Lisha, director of the Guiyang bureau of commerce, gave a briefing on current conditions in the city, recounting the economic and trade exchanges between Guiyang and Germany and promoted the city's investment environment and the Guiyang Sino-German Hydrogen Energy Industry Cluster at the conference.
Cologne officials, meanwhile, talked about the basic situation in their city and its development and utilization of hydrogen energy and its overall industrial development.
Jointly funded and constructed by two companies from Guizhou province and Germany, the Guiyang Sino-German Hydrogen Energy Industry Cluster covers 65 square kilometers in the Guiyang Sino-German International Cooperation Park and involves hydrogen-related research and development, production and transportation.
Local officials said the project will establish the world's first batch of comprehensive hydrogen energy applications demonstration zones.
It will focus on the hydrogen energy industry and integrate the available hydrogen resources in Guizhou province to create a hydrogen energy ecosystem.
Under the terms of the memorandum, the Guiyang bureau of commerce and the Economic Promotion Bureau of Cologne will expand communications and cooperation.
This will be in the areas of trade, health and life sciences, industry, logistics, innovative technology, environmental protection and tourism sectors -- based on their existing partnership in the development and utilization of hydrogen energy.
