A smart logistics project connecting Guiyang and Hong Kong got underway in the Guiyang Free Trade Zone on April 18, with the first six express trucks leaving from the zone for Hong Kong in the morning.
The Guiyang Free Trade Zone and two logistics companies from Guizhou province and Hong Kong signed the agreement.
As the zone’s new move to get involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, the project is expected to help Guiyang to achieve high quality development and openness. Capable of information management of all aspects of the transportation, it reduces intermediate procedures and achieves seamless customs clearance.
The express provides integrated logistics service for customs clearance, bonded warehousing, international freight forwarding, cross-border e-commerce, cold chain preservation, and financial services. In intensive and large-scale operation, it is able to effectively reduce transportation time and costs for Guizhou’s enterprises sending and receiving commodities to and from Hong Kong.
