Huaxi becomes Guizhou's fourth district to surpass GDP of 100b yuan

At the 2026 Guiyang two sessions on Jan 20, Shen Feiyong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Huaxi District and head of Huaxi District People's Government, was interviewed by the media.

Shen stated that since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Huaxi district had adhered to a strategy that balances development with ecology. In 2025, Huaxi's GDP surpassed 100 billion yuan ($14.36 billion), making it the fourth district in Guizhou province and the third in Guiyang to reach this milestone. It was also recognized as a national "Two Mountains" practice innovation base.

For the "15th Five-Year Plan" period (2026-30), the district has several main initiatives. First is promoting the eco-agriculture brand and striving to create a national urban agriculture modernization demonstration zone. Second is the regular maintenance of Huaxi Reservoir and other areas to build an ecological water network. Third is maintaining the forest coverage rate and protecting the urban forest belt. Fourth is integrating ecology with cultural tourism and wellness by relying on its mountain, water, forest, and waterfall ecological resources.

Huaxi district invites friends from all sectors to visit and share in the innovative achievements of development empowered by ecology.
