Guiyang Open 2025 serves off with global talent

The 2025 ITF World Tennis Tour Guiyang Open kicked off on Sept 7 at the Guiyang Jinyang Tennis Center, welcoming 192 professional players from 35 countries and regions, including China, the United States, South Korea, and Georgia.

Over the next 15 days, athletes will compete in women's singles, women's doubles, men's singles, and men's doubles.

Co-hosted by the Chinese Tennis Association, Guizhou Provincial Department of Sports, and Guiyang Municipal People's Government, the Guiyang Open has become a platform for international competition and cultural exchanges. Now in its eighth edition, it has grown into a signature sporting event showcasing Guiyang's vitality and charm.

The opening ceremony set a festive tone with the Bouyei bamboo drum dance, traditional music, and cheerleading performances, welcoming players from around the world.

This year, the total prize money has risen to $70,000, attracting top players such as Zhu Lin, ranked 31st in the world, and Guo Hanyu, fresh off a silver medal at the WTA 1000 Cincinnati Open.

Making her debut at the Guiyang Open, Zhu highlighted the city's cool climate and vibrant culture, "I've always wanted to come here to experience the atmosphere and taste the local food. I hope to fight for the title but will take it match by match. "

Fans are invited to cheer on the matches daily from 9 am to 12 am at Guiyang Jinyang Tennis Center, where free tickets are available with ID. Seats are limited for popular matches, so early arrival is recommended.
