Flower sea injects vitality into rural development

The 300-mu (20 hectares) of vervains in the Shimen Jinxiu Flower Sea Scenic Area of Huaxi district, Guiyang, are now in full bloom, attracting numerous visitors.

In recent years, Huaxi district has been actively exploring new approaches to rural vitalization. The district's Shimen village has developed a flower sea industry by transferring villagers' land and utilizing barren hills.

This initiative has not only increased the incomes of local farmers but also strengthened the village's collective economy. In 2023, the Shimen Jinxiu Flower Sea Scenic Area, primarily featuring vervains, received approximately 125,000 visitors, generating 3.41 million yuan ($470,239) in income.
