The Guiyang municipal bureau of agriculture and rural affairs mobilized more than 11 agricultural enterprises, as well as over 50 agricultural technicians and law enforcement personnel to the Gaopo Miao ethnic township in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on March 12.
The event aimed to assist local farmers in purchasing trusted agricultural materials. This ensured a successful spring plowing period and contributed to food security.
At the event, law enforcement officers and employees of agricultural materials companies patiently provided explanations and answered questions regarding key crops, such as rice, corn, and vegetables.
Meanwhile, participating companies provided some agricultural input products and distributed them free of charge at the event. They also guided farmers to make correct choices in terms of trusted agricultural materials.
The on-site leader of the Horticultural Research Institute, affiliated with the Guizhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said that in addition to promoting agricultural technology, the institute will also provide on-site technical guidance for the planting period.
"We are distributing fertilizer that is suitable for rice and corn for free. The total volume of these bags is 2 metric tons," said the person in charge of Guizhou Tianbaofeng Agriculture Co. They went on to state, "This new type of compound fertilizer only needs to be applied once in large-scale planting areas, without the need for secondary fertilization. This ensures high yields and saves a considerable amount of money for farmers."
During the event, over 2000 brochures with agricultural information were distributed, with agricultural materials companies providing more than 2400 bags of seeds and 3.5 tons of fertilizers free of charge. The participating companies and experts also offered consultation services to over 300 individuals.
