In recent years, Huaxi district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been working to promote the development of local agricultural products.
Among them, "Hua Xiao Mei" – a local strawberry brand – is the first to earn a name for itself. It has received national geographical indication certification for agricultural products, has been recognized as a provincial public brand for agricultural products in Guizhou, and was included in the first batch of nationally recognized excellent new agricultural product directories.
It has become a leading force for Huaxi agricultural products in their expansion beyond the local area. Following close behind are agricultural product brands like "Hua Xiao Gu" – a local mushroom brand, "Hua Xiao Tao" – a local peach brand, "Hua Xiao Jiao" – a local pepper brand, and more.
Huaxi is advancing innovation in agricultural technology among edible mushroom enterprises, achieving "industrialized" production of mushrooms. This has not only significantly increased the yield of mushrooms but has also improved their quality. This year is expected to see the production of 2,100 metric tons of mushrooms valued at 9 million yuan ($1.25 million).
"The next step will involve deep processing, adding drying production lines and shiitake mushroom sauce production lines, continuously extending the mushroom industrial chain, and expanding and strengthening the mushroom industry," explained a company leader.
