Guiyang Huaxi National Urban Wetland Park was established in December 2009 and approved by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. It covers a total planned area of approximately 941 hectares, including Shilihetan, Huaxi Park, and Pingqiao Golden Avenue.
The park combines scientific education, sightseeing, and leisure, with a beautiful ecological environment and natural landscape. It is the country's first national urban wetland park with plateau karst landforms as its main feature.
In 2014, it was rated as a national AAAA-level scenic spot and has become an important way to showcase the city and the province.
Seasonal Activities:
Spring:
1. Guiyang Art Museum's 2023 calligraphy and painting joint exhibition
An academically-significant calligraphy and painting exhibition that is held once a year.
2. The art aromatherapy salon
Participants can learn about the efficacy and production of essential oils through lectures, as well as experience tea-tasting and participate in the production of essential oils.
3. Flag football
Different courses and levels of difficulty are available for different ages and participants.
Summer:
1. Blossom viewing season activities
Located in Huaxi Park and Shizi Street, the blossom activities combine with the Chinese-style market and special snacks tasting.
2. Guizhou province calligraphy and painting masters exhibition
Autumn:
1. Huaxi Carnival Party
A Halloween-themed carnival party.
2. "Reading in Huaxi" events
Winter:
1. Calligraphy and painting exhibition
2. Guizhou Province Tourism and Catering Skills Competition
3. Fluorescence runs on Chinese New Year's Eve
Runners put on fluorescent clothes and do warm-up exercises for a night run.
