Guiyang Huaxi National Urban Wetland Park was established in December 2009 and approved by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. It covers a total planned area of approximately 941 hectares, including Shilihetan, Huaxi Park, and Pingqiao Golden Avenue.

The park combines scientific education, sightseeing, and leisure, with a beautiful ecological environment and natural landscape. It is the country's first national urban wetland park with plateau karst landforms as its main feature.
