Since the start of the latest outbreak of COVID-19, the Huaxi bureau of industry and information technology has been working to provide assistance to enterprises in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

There are 63 industrial enterprises above designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.85 million) or more – in the district. Aside from nine engaged in key material production, the rest of the enterprises have suspended operations.

The bureau has published epidemic prevention and control policies, offered assistance to enterprises, and studied the operations of enterprises.

Through the implementation of measures to assist enterprises, the short-term impact of COVID-19 has been minimized.

So far, the bureau has helped Taibang Biologic Group deliver drugs for epidemic prevention and control, eased pressure on the supply of immunoglobulin at provincial and municipal hospitals, opened up the raw material transportation channel of Xinhuaxi Glass Co – saving the company over 70 million yuan – and coordinated the transportation of supporting materials produced by several local companies.
