The Huaxi district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been promoting the integration of big data with its economy, investments and social services to boost the local digital sector, a process it began in recent years.
The district has introduced a number of electronics information manufacturing projects and accelerated the intelligent upgrading of its manufacturing sector.
Last year, 37 traditional industrial companies in the district carried out a digital and intelligent transformation, deeply integrating themselves with the big data industry.
Huaxi has also introduced and started big data R&D innovation projects, big data training projects, smart tourism projects and e-commerce projects, and formed a system for big data development, which has attracted big data companies to develop in the district.
The district completed the construction of a demonstration base for big data and service outsourcing, last year generating 13.37 billion yuan ($2 billion) in revenue from the internet and related software and information technology services.
In terms of improving the quality of life of its residents, Huaxi has developed a number of efficient big data applications in different fields and improved its digital governance capabilities.
A unified, shared and standardized information database and electronics certificate library has been established, while an advanced government affairs service system covering the district has been established.
The district has improved its information network infrastructure by completing the installation of 641 5G base stations, and has launched three big data applications in the tourism, education and sports sectors.
