Huaxi to improve lives of residents

Huaxi district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently announced its 2022 tasks for improving the lives of local residents.

The list involves 10 fields, including employment and income, education, healthcare, transportation, living environment, culture and senior care.

Here are the details: 

Employment and income

Create 13,400 new jobs in urban areas

Increase local basic pension funds for basic pension insurance of urban and rural residents to 960 yuan ($144) per person per year

Improve the security standards for rural people in need 

Education

Build, renovate and expand four kindergartens and three primary and middle schools

Increase enrollment capacity of kindergartens, primary and middle schools by 7,440

Healthcare

Build, renovate or expand a community health service center

Finish construction on three nursery institutions, including one demonstrative nursery institution

Complete construction of a one-stop service center for outpatient treatment and the Children's Intensive Care Unit in Huaxi District People's Hospital

Convenient services

Develop eight 15-minute living circles

Renovate one agricultural supermarket and build Qingxi farmers' market

Build an online farmers' market and 12 supermarkets for fresh food

Build 10 judicial offices that are up to standard

Build two free public toilets and renovate four public toilets

Transportation

Connect and unblock three blocked roads

Add 2,800 new public parking spaces and open eligible parking lots of local government departments, public institutions and State-owned enterprises to the public free of charge at certain periods

Complete traffic congestion control in an area with prominent traffic jam problems

Complete seat installation at all bus stations

Complete 19 kilometers of rural road safety projects

Complete renovations on Qingxi Road-Huaguan Road

Start construction on Huatong South Road

Living environment

Complete the renovation of 2,017 households and start renovating 7,848 old residential communities

Renovate 40 backstreets and alleys

Build a medium or large domestic waste transfer station (sorting center)

Install nine collection stations for recyclables and hazardous waste in townships and standardize 95 village collection stations for recyclables and hazardous waste

Complete renovation of 1,961 households in shanty areas 

Start construction on 1,571 affordable rental apartments

Public safety

Build three small firefighting stations

Develop five standardized full-time township fire brigades

Culture and sports

Build eight Yikebao cultural stations

Build or update 15 fitness paths, three multi-purpose sports fields, and two smart fitness stations

Open a fitness track from Mingzhu Avenue to Tenglong Bay, and a Long March trail from Qingyan Ancient Town to Gaopo township

Open the sports venues of 152 schools to the public for free

Senior care

Add one sub-district senior care service center and six community senior care service stations

Rural improvement

Renovate 1,100 rural houses

Complete the treatment of rural domestic sewage in 13 villages

Complete the treatment of four black or odorous water bodies in rural areas

Build or renovate 20,374 rural household toilets
