The authorities of Huaxi district of Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – have done a great job in the development of its transportation, living environment and day-to-day services in recent years, according to a Dec 22 report in the People's Daily.

Huaxi has focused on creating a 15-minute life circle, establishing all the basic service functions and public activity spaces required to lead a healthy life – all within 15 minutes access by walking, cycling or by car.

It has increased the number and quality of its parking lots and farmers' markets, renovated shanty areas and old residential communities, and solved traffic congestion.

At the same time, the district has implemented suggestions from the public on optimizing public spaces, renovating water and electricity pipes and boosting other infrastructure.

Huaxi district has also paid attention to the expectations of relocated people in the areas of employment, education, medical insurance and other aspects, completing the resettlement of the relocated people.

Additionally, to build a beautiful Huaxi district, the local authorities have improved the local living environment and introduced classifications for household garbage.

Longjing village in Qingyan town is one of the representatives of the beautiful Huaxi district.

Through the joint efforts of local cadres, villagers, cooperatives and companies, the village has developed several tourism brands, as well as tourist attractions with the cultural features of the Bouyei ethnic group.
