Qingyan Ancient Town in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was listed among the first batch of national night cultural and tourism consumption clusters by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Oct 19.
The town is the only 5A-level tourist site in Guiyang. In recent years, its managers have optimized and improved its services, helping to unleash the power of the night economy.
Merchants at the site have been encouraged to change their business concepts in an effort to make the area more attractive to tourists, while maintaining effective epidemic prevention and control measures.
The scenic spot has also added night parking spaces for buses to encourage transport companies to extend their operating hours. Lighting has been added to the site's surrounding main roads, giving the area a 90 percent lighting rate and aiding the provision of public transport at night.
In addition to improving services, the town has also launched various evening tours. Since August 2020, the town has put on regular activities themed around the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
Moving forward, Qingyan Ancient Town will continue to explore new tourism models and improve its restaurants, shops and entertainment, attracting more tourists and driving the nighttime economy development of the ancient town.
