Huaxi receives over 2m visits during holiday

During this year's National Day Holiday on Oct 1-7, Huaxi district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, organized a variety of tourism activities, products and routes, with its tourism economy reportedly getting a big boost.

Over the seven-day break, the district received more than 2.04 million visits and generated tourism revenue of 1.39 billion yuan ($216.1 million).

A variety of night tours were launched in key tourist attractions in the district. Qingyan Ancient Town staged night tours with Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) elements, that featured parades and performances.

Meanwhile, in the wake of improvements to services and facilities, equipment and various rural tourist attractions in Huaxi, a large number of visitors were attracted to the charms of the countryside during the break.

Longjing village in Qingyan town staged Bouyei folk culture-themed performances at night, while the Yunding Ski Resort in Gaopo township offered paragliding and cultural activities such as Miao folk performances.

The cultural tourism projects launched by the various scenic spots in Huaxi were of great interest to the tourists, helping to generate valuable revenue.
