In Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, Huaxi district received more than 510,000 visits and generated tourism revenue of 313.82 million yuan ($48.61 million) during the recent seven-day Spring Festival holiday, which ran from Feb 11 to 17.
During the seven-day break, the district launched various travel activities, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.

Due to the strict novel coronavirus pandemic prevention and control measures, the district also launched online exhibitions and events, allowing people to enjoy cultural experiences and natural scenery from the comfort of their homes.
Huaxi held 56 online activities related to culture, book sharing, education and intangible cultural heritage, attracting more than 10,000 viewers during the holiday.
Also, Huaxi organized a series of activities targeting residents and non-locals staying in the district for the holiday, including countryside tours, local tours and parent-child tours.
