Huaxi's agricultural products shine at Guangzhou trade fair

A trade fair for special agricultural products from Huaxi district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was held on Jan 23 in Guangzhou, Guangdong province.

At the fair, several online celebrities sold products during a three-hour livestream. A total of 21 types of products from seven agricultural product processing enterprises in Huaxi district were exhibited, including strawberries, tea, high-quality rice and dried meat products.

The livestreaming activity achieved sales totaling 520,000 yuan ($80,218.44) and attracted 37,000 online viewers.

It is the first time that Huaxi's agricultural products have appeared on the market in Guangzhou. It's also the first time that Huaxi-based enterprises involved in processing agricultural products have allied to market themselves outside Guizhou province.

Besides publicizing agricultural products from Huaxi district, the trade fair has also improved the products' added value.

In the future, the district's bureau of agriculture and rural affairs will use the trade fair as an opportunity to strengthen its support for local enterprises involved in the processing of agricultural products and improve the branding of Huaxi's agricultural products.

The bureau will seek more markets for enterprises and farmers and assist local farmers in increasing their incomes.
