As a superior agricultural product with geographical indication in Huaxi, locally produced strawberries have been well-known on the market for many years.

The strawberry farming area in the district currently covers more than 1,100 mu (73.33 hectares) and is mainly distributed along main roads with convenient transportation and many tourists. The annual output of strawberries is about 1,800 metric tons.

The district has also implemented strict source control of strawberry plantations to ensure the quality of Huaxi's strawberries. The control measures aim to eliminate excessive pesticide residue on the berries and illegal drug use.

In the future, Huaxi district will promote strawberries as a critical industry in the district and a leading industry for rural revitalization.

The district plans to expand its farming area beyond the current area of 1,100 mu. The planting scale of strawberries in the district is expected to reach 2,000 mu in 2022.
