At present, the total excavation at Huaxi Lake amounts to 1.08 million cubic meters. It is expected that the excavation of the lake will be completed on June 30.
The project is located on Tianyuan Road in Huaxi district in Guiyang city, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province. It is an important link connecting the greenbelt systems of Huaxi district.
Covering a total planned land area of 1,630 mu (108.67 hectares), it is a comprehensive park integrating eco-tourism, intangible heritage displays, science education, sports, fitness, and leisure.
Since resuming work on March 1, an average of 20 machines have worked at the construction site per day. During the peak period, there were more than 30 excavators, 150 transportation vehicles, and more than 200 construction workers holding their posts day and night.
In addition to overtime work by the construction companies, in order to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic and ensure the orderly resumption of the project, the Huaxi district government established a project leadership team to help companies solve problems they encountered and advance the project efficiently.
So far, Huaxi district government has reduced social security benefits by 370,000 yuan ($51,725.1) for construction companies, and shared 50 percent of the cost of engineering insurance.
