Three medical teams returned home in Guiyang, capital of China's Southwest Guizhou province on March 20 and citizens from the city's Huaxi district welcomed them, according to local officials.
The 433 team members were sent to help prevent and control the novel coronavirus in Ezhou, in Central China's Hubei province, in early February.
Zhang Yingbi, president of Guiyang Huaxi District People's Hospital said the hospital sent four medics to the front line to fight against the epidemic.
"I just saw them. I am very excited and proud after learning they came back safely," she added.
Chen Fei, director of the nursing department of Guiyang Huaxi District People's Hospital said during the fight against the epidemic, many nurses displayed sterling qualities and insisted on working in the front line.
The cure rate of patients in Ezhou reached more than 93 percent, officials said. No case of infections occurred in the Guizhou medical team.
At present, more than 400 Guizhou medics are still insisting on staying on in their posts, to continue the fight against the epidemic in Ezhou.
