A plasma donation station for cured novel coronavirus pneumonia patients in Southwest China's Guizhou province was set up on March 2, at the Guizhou Provincial Staff Hospital in Huaxi district, in Guiyang city, capital of the province.
Officials said that from March 3, collections were made available for cured patients who came to donate plasma.
The plasma collection is performed by doctors and nurses at the Taibang dry collecting plasma station, a subsidiary of Guizhou Taibang Health Co.
After tests are made, the collected plasma is sent to a designated hospital for the treatment of infected patients who are in a severe and critically ill condition.
On the same day of the opening, the doctors and nurses of the plasma collection station also received training on personal protection and biosafety.
