According to information released at the opening ceremony of the China International Big Data Industry Expo 2024 held on Aug 28, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province are now home to 22 large and super-large data centers, among the highest concentrations of super-large data centers globally.
To improve its digital infrastructure, Guizhou has made efforts to build a national integrated computing power network hub, with a substantial increase in computing power, storage capacity, and carrying capacity.
In a positive sign for the development of digital industry, the annual output value of the big data electronic information industry has doubled in five years, while the annual revenue of the software and information technology service industry has tripled in eight years. The growth rate of the digital economy has ranked among the top in the country for nine consecutive years.
To expand digital application scenarios, Guizhou has helped more than 30,000 companies use cloud services. Its "big data + tourism" model makes travel more convenient, allowing people to enter and exit subway stations, train stations, and airports by simply scanning their faces.
Guiyang Big Data Sci-tech Innovation City is home to thousands of big data and related companies, accelerating the attraction of high-end talents in the digital economy.
