Free unmanned shuttle rides now available in Guiyang

An unmanned shuttle vehicle that was developed and manufactured by Pix Moving, an intelligent technology company based in the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, started operating in Guiyang's Guanshanhu Park on Dec 23, offering free rides for the public.

The unmanned shuttle vehicle, without common components like steering wheels and accelerator pedals, features a symmetrical design that allows for bidirectional movement. Citizens can enjoy a free trial ride between 10 am and 12 pm, and then again between 2 pm and 5 pm from Monday to Saturday.

"The unmanned shuttle vehicle provides air-conditioning throughout the day and offers features such as adjustable ambient lighting and music playback. During the trial period, the vehicle will operate within the upper lake area of Guanshanhu Park, starting from the Qiannan entrance and stopping at two stations along the way. Passengers can board at the stations and get off at anywhere along the route," explained a representative from Pix Moving.

To ensure safety, the unmanned shuttle vehicle will maintain a speed of 5 kilometers per hour, a little faster than walking speed. In the event of obstacles, the vehicle's automatic driving sensors are capable of real-time detection and control to avoid collisions. Additionally, there will be a safety officer onboard that can take control of the vehicle in case of any sudden emergency.
