Guiyang achieves continuous 5G coverage

As of June, Guiyang had achieved continuous 5G coverage in all districts, county-level cities, counties, and towns. Important transportation hubs, national 5A-level scenic spots, grade-A tertiary hospitals, and universities all now enjoy full 5G coverage.

Since the beginning of this year, Guiyang City and Guian New Area have built 2,896 new 5G base stations, with a total of 25,000 5G base stations built, accounting for approximately 25 percent of the province's total.

Guiyang and Guian have also launched 16 projects involving areas such as industry, tourism, and transportation for 5G application scenarios.

Since 2023, various 5G application scenario demonstration projects in civil, commercial and government fields have been launched, so as to promote the digitalization, networking, and intelligent transformation of the real economy.

According to the plan, Guiyang and Guian will build an additional 5,000 5G base stations in 2023, creating 30 integrated 5G application scenarios. They will also create a direct optical fiber link between Guiyang and Guangzhou.
