The big data development administrations of Southwest China's Guizhou province and South China's Hainan province recently signed an agreement to jointly develop their big data sectors.

Under the accord, they will use their competitive advantages in resources and join forces in industry cooperation, data circulation, computing power, expert exchanges, the mutual recognition of standards, talent exchanges and organizing major events.

The agreement is expected to allow Guizhou and Hainan to co-organize and participate in big data-related activities, forums and innovation competitions. Furthermore, it will showcase their achievements in the big data area and promote the high-quality development of the digital economy.

Plans are for Guizhou and Hainan to accelerate the rapid expansion of the industrial scale of their big sectors, as well as boost digital integration, the construction of new infrastructure and explore more big data application scenarios.

Both provinces intend to further open, share and utilize their data resources to cultivate the data element market.
