Updated: 2021-01-06

Three big data enterprises at Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, were recently selected as top-level pilot units for their data management capabilities, according to a list issued by the China Information Technology Industry Federation (CITIF).

The selection process was based on CITIF's Data Management Capability Maturity Assessment Model (DCMM), the first national standard in data management in China.

The three enterprises in Guiyang HIDZ were chosen as top-level – also known as DCMM3-level – pilot units.

According to local media reports, the DCMM mainly aims to help enterprises utilize advanced data management concepts and methods to establish and evaluate their own data management capabilities and continuously improve their data management organization, procedures and systems.

The assessment model also gives full play to the value of data in promoting the informatization, digitization and intelligence development of enterprises.

In the future, the zone's big data development office will actively encourage big data enterprises to attain relevant certifications, further optimize their data management abilities, improve the skill level of data management personnel and meet the market regulatory requirements.

The office will also further improve the big data R&D and innovation abilities of relevant enterprises in the zone.
