Guiyang city and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province will accelerate the digital economy's development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025) to provide strong support for the province's construction of a national big data comprehensive experimental area, according to a press conference on Dec 31.
Guiyang and Guian will build three industrial clusters to promote the province's core competitiveness in the digital economy – each with an output value of more than 100 billion yuan ($15.4 billion). A large number of significant projects involving data center clusters, electronic information manufacturing, as well as software and information technology services, will be attracted to accelerate the development of the digital industry.
By 2022, the 62-kilometer-long Shubo (Big Data Expo) Avenue will be completed, becoming a showcase for the latest scientific and technological innovations. Shubo Avenue is considered a prime location to promote big data and the real economy's development, which will lead to the formation of a big data industry cluster along the road.
Guiyang Big Data Exchange – a leading big data transactions platform in the country – will be restructured and upgraded to promote the province's big data innovations.
Also, an increasing number of academic works such as Big Data Terminology – the world's first multilingual encyclopedia on big data – will be published to make Guiyang and Guian pioneers of big data innovation.
