The establishment of a society for tourism big data and an association for the digital economy and blockchain technology was announced at an unveiling ceremony recently held in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The unveiling ceremony was hosted by the China Field Statistics Research Society and the National Industrial Statistics Teaching and Research Association. More than 370 experts and academics from over 50 universities and institutes attended the event.
Zhao Pu, president of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, said both bodies were established to promote statistics applied in tourism big data, the digital economy and in blockchain technology -- as well as to strengthen the integration of theoretical research and practical applications.
Experts and academics also gave keynote speeches at the following academic symposium.
